About Us

Co-owned by Susan Standberry, Serene Manor is under the umbrella of Serenity Place Co, LLC, a housing development agency whose corporate office is located in McCalla, Alabama. Serenity Place began operating a group home for people suffering from mental illnesses in January 2013.
The agency eventually responded to the demand for housing and added four additional buildings in Birmingham and McCalla. In 2017, Serene Manor was founded and rehab began. Serene Manor is a 23-bed assisted living facility licensed through the State of Alabama’s Department of Public Health.
The officers and employees of Serenity Place Co, LLC are committed to providing excellent care and attention to the needs of their residents while maintaining the general operations of the facility.
